I wanted to have my telescope mount upgraded to a real Goto mount. Herman ten Haaf offered to modify my mount by adding a second worm wheel in Declination and strong motors, together with a Pulsar control. To have him do this, however, I had to dismantle my telescope and bring the mount to him...

It was during a nice sunny spring day when I started doing this. I spent half a day building a crane which I can put over my telescope hut, using the rails for the roof. The crane can be seen on the ground still to the left.

I pushed the crane on top of the hut on long wodden logs.

Horray! The crane is ready to be used.

This picture shows the wooden support structures for the counterweight axis and the telescope. This lets me remove the counterweights.

The telescope is hanging without support at the crane. A scary moment - but it holds!

The declination block is being removed.
